Just Another Day... -
Well today was one of my boss' last day at work. I'm really going to miss her. I am trying not to talk about work too much in my journal, because its not password protected and I've known journalers who actually have been fired because of things they have said in their journals. So I will only try and say positive things about work in this journal, just in case someone from work ever comes across it.

But anyway, M. who was the co-counsel for the association's last day was today. She is tired of practicing law and is going to an insurance company to work in operations. Good for her I say. I know she will be glad to never again see another real estate form. She had been at the association for seven years and is going to be sorely missed. I can't believe I have actually been there for five years. Its the longest I have ever worked anywhere. With Jonathan being in the military and us PCSing every few years... About 3 years was the max I was anywhere. And that was with a law firm in Savannah, GA. Oh the stories I could tell you there. It was like living in a soap opera. Ah, the interesting lives most law firms live. I'm actually glad I don't work for a law firm now. Its nice doing association work.

It looks like I am going to be doing some more meeting planning for the association. I just attended a Hotel Operations Program in Tucson, AZ last week and I really enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind learning more about planning conventions, large meetings, etc. and going to work for a different company. Not that I'm not really happy where I am, but the meeting planning really looks like a lot of fun. I absolutely love traveling, but it would be difficult with two young ones. Maybe in a few years... I do quite a bit of traveling with my job now.

Tomorrow I am taking Skyler to see Beauty and the Beast on Ice. She is obsessed with Beauty and the Beast. I bet she has watched the DVD no less than 100 times in the van. Hell, I can just about repeat the movie from start to finish myself. Note to self...Buy cordless headphones for Skyler for the DVD player in the van!!! I took her to see a Disney On Ice show at the coliseum a year or so ago and it was totally awesome. I even liked it. I know she is going to love this one. I wanted to take her on Saturday night, but Jonathan originally had plans to attend the SEC championship game in Atlanta. His plans fell through and he isn't going, so now we are stuck with the Wednesday night tickets instead of going on the weekend. Oh well, bitch, moan, groan....

My parents left to go home yesterday. It was nice having them here, but I think Jonathan is glad they are gone so he gets control of his big screen tv back. The man can't function without his "alone time" at night and total control of the monster 55 inch television we have in our living room. Personally the thing blinds me. I'll stick with my puny 36 inch television upstairs in the bedroom. Let me tell you, whoever invented the DVR is a genius! I never watch regular tv anymore. I record all the shows I want to watch and at approximately 9:30 or so after I get everyone in bed, I watch my programs in peace while fast forwarding through the commercials. Its wonderful! Thank you DVR inventor!

I'm just jumping all over the place on this entry today. Lots of non important things to talk about today I guess. I'm still going to work on the skin and get this thing laid out correctly.... Someday.... I'm satisfied with just posting for now. It takes me forever to lay out the skin and do html. And I want to do it right so I don't have to mess with it anymore. So it may be saved for another time and place if and when the kids go to my mom's house again.

Jonathan and I are taking another cruise in February. I'm really looking forward to it. February will actually be here before you know it. We are going to New Orleans for two nights and then catching the Carnival Conquest on Sunday evening for a 7 night cruise to Cozumel, Montego Bay and Grand Cayman. We've taken a cruise for the last 3 years. We've only cruised on Carnival though. I'd like to try another cruise line, but Carnival usually has the cheapest rates. He has actually won the cruises from work for the last few years, but he doesn't work with the hotel anymore, so last year was our last free/discounted cruise. Cruising is awesome.

Well I guess I better end for now. I need to head upstairs and give the babies a bath. We have painters coming next week to paint a bunch of the house. I don't know if I ever mentioned it or not, but we had some water damage done to our house while we were home in TN after I had Chase. One of the skylights blew off during the hurricanes in September and it rained in on our hardwoods in the breakfast nook for days. What a mess. We are painting a lot of the rooms and we have to get everything out of the way. Our house is so jam packed with toys and junk, its almost impossible to move around. Kids require so much equipment, you know! Ah the good ole days when things weren't as crowded, there were no toys around and once you cleaned the house it stayed that way for weeks. Ah, those days are gone for sure now. But the kids are great and definitely worth it. Little Chase is such a good boy. I just thank God every day that we have two beautiful and healthy children. So many people in this world aren't lucky enough to have children at all.

Well I won't get sappy here. I'll end for now. Until we meet again....

Still Working on the Skin.... -
So I'm back to square one with the skin. I think I have resigned myself that I am going to have to lose the comments and use a tagboard instead. I've not really seen that many tagboards on most of the journals I read, but I guess this isn't a normal journal like I read. My favorites are Jane, Robyn and Nance. I think they all use Movable Type and not blogspot. I tried downloading Movable Type, but I can't even begin using the thing.

I actually had another post ready to go, but for some reason I just lost the frigging thing. Dangit. Back up, back up, save, learn that Monica!

So we had a pretty nice Thanksgiving. Nothing exciting. As I mentioned before, my mom and stepdad came over from TN. We ate around 5:30. Our meal was pretty easy to make. Most of it came from Popeye's. Standing over a hot stove slaving all day just isn't me.

So I swore I wouldn't do any shopping on "Black Friday" but I was so bored after sitting in the house for two days that I had to get out yesterday. So around 3:00 p.m. I headed to the mall. I know, please shoot me! But it actually wasn't that bad. I think most of the die hard shoppers had already left by that time. And the funny thing is, you know how they advertise all this extra stuff from 6:00 a.m. to noon, well they will still offering the same discounts at 3:00. So ha! I've already finished 90% of my shopping anyway. I still can't decide what to get Jonathan or my dad. And I still have to buy the stuff off my stepdad's list. My stepdad makes a list of exactly what he wants, so that makes it simple shopping for him. Not to mention he gets exactly what he wants or needs. I have made wish lists for Skyler and Chase on toysrus.com and walmart.com. Shopping is going high tech. At least their grandparents can look at the lists and get a general idea of the things they would like to have. The only thing I really need for Chase at the moment is a highchair.

Getting something for Jonathan is always a pain. You really don't know what to buy him. This year for his birthday I gave him a gift certificate to play golf. Golf is one of the things he really enjoys. Of course its one of the most expensive sports you can play. But he doesn't really play that often.

So I have decided I want to start collecting Tiffany jewelry. Not the expensive stuff, of course, but the sterling silver. I've never really collected anything and the jewelry just seemed kind of cool. Something that I can pass on to Skyler when she gets older. I've only purchased one piece so far. Its the Return to Tiffany Tag Bracelet. We purchased it at Tiffany's in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands last year while we were on our cruise. The next thing I want is the Elsa Peretti Sterling Silver Cross. The sterling silver jewelry isn't too bad.

Today we are going to this place called Hill*billy Hide*away to eat dinner. Its a log cabin where they serve you "family style." On Saturday nights they also play bluegrass music. Skyler loves to listen to bluegrass music. When we are visiting our parents in TN my dad takes Skyler and my niece Sienna to the Carter Fold. They love to try and clog and listen to the music. My sister Becky and I used to go there almost every Saturday night with my dad and stepmom. We both had our little clogging shoes with the taps and our little dresses that spun out when you spun around. It was great fun. Skyler loves to go there to. I'm sure they have places like that around here to, but we haven't ever taken her. Jonathan doesn't care for bluegrass music too much. Believe it or not, he actually listens to Rap. I can't STAND rap and it pisses me off that he listens to that crap while Skyler is in the car. Now don't get me wrong, I do like some black music, but not the hard rap and not Eminem. He has been playing this one song over and over again and I actually like it. Its the Nelly and Tim McGraw song. Its pretty good. Right now Skyler is listening and dancing to a Whitney Houston song from The Bodyguard movie. Skyler LOVES music of all kinds. I used to take her to Kindermusik. But now she takes ballet, so its hard to take her to too many things. I think I might take Chase to Kindermusik when he gets a little older.

I finally figured out why I couldn't post pictures. Its the new Norton Internet Security program I have installed. The program can't get past the firewall or something like that. So basically if I turn the program off, then I can get through to post the pictures. Figures, huh?

Well I guess I better end this post for now. I'll bore you with some more pictures of the kids.

Skins Kill Me! -
Ok, so I had to do away with the new skin. It just wasn't working and I couldn't get my comments working. So now I'm back to square one. Someday I will figure this stuff out. It was much simpler when I did things in Frontpage. This html stuff is too much for me! I realized I really don't want to lose the comments, so I'm going to have to find a skin where I can make them work. Geeze. Also, I can't seem to get Hello to work downloading my pictures. Basically I'm just all screwed up with this thing! Most of the journals I read use Movable Type, but I can't figure that out to save my life.

So, enough messing with this thing for today. It is "Black Friday" you know. I wouldn't get out and go shopping right now if you paid me a million bucks! I've already got 80% of my shopping finished anyway. I despise going to the mall and fighting the crowds. Not to mention that Skyler basically has everything there is out there to have. Hmmm, you can't say she is spoiled can you? That child has everything under the sun. Now that we have a boy, I'm not sure what I will buy him. I just don't have that boy mentality, you know. I'm sure I'll figure out what his likes and dislikes are as he grows older. We are just running out of room for toys at our house.

I hope I will get the photo thing figured out. I really want to put some of the pics of Chase up. He is such a little cutie. He is swinging his life away. You can feed him and put him in his swing and he is just the happiest little camper you ever saw.

This has been a mess! - Thursday, November 25, 2004
I have been messing with the skin for this blog for AGES! Believe me, I know NO html and it has been a NIGHTMARE!!! I think I have finally decided on this skin and God help me if I ever want to change it! I have searched the world over for a skin that I liked. Either I liked it and it didn't have Archives, etc. or it just plain old blew. What a mess. So anyway, I'm really back this time and we are ready to start blogging away again!

I have lots to catch up on I know and I will probably just do it periodically. So much has happened since I last really blogged back in August. Of course, I have had the baby and he is now going on 4 months old! Just proves once baby number 2 comes into the picture, your time is pretty much gone. Well on top of working full time, etc. I will definately put some pics with this post so you guys can see what an absolutely gorgeous baby I have! HA! You can't tell I'm prejudiced can you? He is such a good baby. We are really lucky. He is so laid back. He slept through the night at 4 weeks. I give him his last bottle at 9:30 and he sleeps until 8:30 or 9:30 the next morning. That is unless its a work day and I have to wake him up earlier. He is soooo good. Hmmm, wonder if I'll be saying that when he starts crawling and walking, huh? But for now...He is an angel.

I've been back to work for almost a whole month. Things have finally settled back into a routine. Its a lot different with two kids. But luckily Jonathan helps me with the kids. He may not help me anywhere else, but he does help with the kids.

Its hard to believe today is Thanksgiving. We stayed at home this year and my parents came over to visit with us. They actually had both kids for a whole week while I visited Tucson, AZ for a business trip. I'll include some pics of the trip to. I'll just picture you guys out today. The trip was great. I've never been to Arizona before. I stayed at the Ventanna Canyon Resort. Just let me say... it was WONDERFUL. We were treated like royalty and the resort was absolutely fabulous. Of course, I worked about 12 hours a day, but I did have 1/2 day off to enjoy the resort and Tucson at the end of my trip.

Let me tell you something else, Sam's Photo Club is the ultimate! I have had like 500 digital pictures sitting around on my computer since Skyler was born. I had always meant to start printing them out, but never had the time, etc. Well this is so cool... You upload your photos and then you send them to your local Sam's Club. Then in one hour's time, you go pick up your photos! Now how cool is that! I uploaded over 300 photos and a few hours later we headed over to Sam's and voila! The photos were ready to go. And the best part is, they are only like $.18 a piece. Thats cheaper than going to Wal-Mart with your Kodak film! So I pretty much will not ever use regular film or photo processing again. Sam's Photo Club totally ROCKS!!

Well I'm just all over the place today! I just have so much to talk about, but so little time. Well you know, it IS Thanksgiving. Not that I cook much or anything. We are even ordering 75% of our Thanksgiving dinner from Popeye's. I know, we blow. But cooking a turkey for 12 hours with all the trimmings, well thats just too damn hard! Not to mention Popeye's cajun turkeys rock.

Well as you can see, I'm still working on the skin to this blog. So please bare with me while I work on it. The main stuff is up and thats all that counts. Also, the tagboard is new, never really even seen one before. So we'll see how that goes to. I pretty much lost the comments part. Don't know if I can get it back, but at least we have the tagboard for now.

Anyway, gotta run and start getting ready for dinner. Glad to be back!

I'm Back!!! - Friday, November 05, 2004
Can you believe I am finally back! I started this blog back in August while I was pregnant, but I haven't had a chance to write again since then. I'm such a slacker. I think it was mainly because for 3/4 of my maternity leave I was home with my parents in Tennessee. I figured.... I'm NOT having any more children and I will NEVER get 3 months off straight again, so why not spend it at home with my family!

But now its November and I'm back to work. I feel like I have more time to myself now that I'm back to work!
