Tooth is Fixed! - Wednesday, February 02, 2005
Thanks Caroline and Mallard for letting me know my Guestbook wasn't working. Dumba-- me didn't realize you had to pay a one-time setup fee of $1.99 to signmyguestbook.com before they turned your guestbook on. I guess that's what I get for not reading my confirmation email, huh? Anyway, I "think" the thing is working now. We'll see I guess.

I had an all-time high of 4 comments on my post yesterday! Woohoo! Moving up in the world, huh? ;-)

So Skyler and I headed to the dentist this morning to get the broken tooth fixed again. As usual, she was an angel at the dentist's office. I have a funny little story to tell you about our visit.

As we were heading back to the dentist's office for Skyler to have her tooth worked on we passed by one room where a little boy was receiving a bit of laughing gas before his procedure. The dental hygenist/nurse or whatever she was stopped Sklyer and told her to watch as they gave the little boy the gas. She then told Skyler, "See honey, we are going to put this little mask over your face and you will feel all happy and we'll get your tooth all fixed up like new!" Skyler turned around and looked at the lady and said, and I quote, "I don't think so." And as she said this she had her little hand on her hip and was doing the little "sassy" head shake as she said it. The nurse just kind of looked at her. And then Skyler said, "I don't need that stuff, I'm a big girl." Humph! Yeah she says that now, but you should see her at night when we are trying to put her little butt to bed! Well the nurse just laughed and said, alright then we'll do without it.

Well girlfriend jumped up in the dentist's chair and opened her mouth just as pretty as you please. The dentist had her tooth fixed in 5 minutes flat. They put a more permanent filling on it this time. She said it could fall out again, but hopefully it won't. If it does, we will have to put a crown on it. I know that sounds funny putting a crown on a 3 year old, but I really don't want her going around for the next 4 years with a chipped tooth. She is very vain for a 3 year old. She absolutely refuses to let me put her hair in "dog ears" because she says that's for babies. Good God, what do I have to look forward to when girlfriend is a teenager?

So the trip to the dentist was great. I have a pic of her tooth while it was chipped, although its not a very good picture. I'll have to put up a "before and after" for you to see later. We ate lunch after leaving the doctor's office and I dropped her off at school. As she went into her class all the little kids surrounded her and were screaming, "Skyler can we see your new tooth?" She had her little sticker on her shirt saying she had been to the dentist and was showing everyone her new tooth and sticker as I walked out the door and headed to work.

Skyler and I went to gymnastics last night. She takes gymnastics on Tuesdays and ballet/tap on Thursdays. For a 3 year old her life sure is pretty damn busy, huh? That's not including playdates, etc. that we do on the weekends. If Chase is as busy as Skyler is, I'm in for a really busy life. Now I know why we traded the Accord in on a minivan! She really enjoys gymnastics though. Her big goal is to be a cheerleader when she is 5. She keeps asking to be a cheerleader, but there aren't any cheerleading groups around here that will take them until they are 5. So I went ahead and put her in gymnastics and when she turns 5 she will be a little prepared. Please tell me where girlfriend got the idea at the age of 3 that she wants to be a cheerleader? I know she really enjoyed going to see her friend Catherine in a competition a few weeks ago, but she has had this ambition for almost a year now. God help me if she sucks at it. I know I did. I was a cheerleader when I was little, but I could never do all those flips and everything. When I got older, I just couldn't cut it. I don't see Sklyer as being very athletic, but you never know. I hope for Jonathan's sake that Chase really loves sports, because if he doesn't, Jonathan will be very upset. He says he wants him to do whatever he wants, but if he plays sports, Jonathan will be in "hog heaven."

After gymnastics we headed to eat at Steak & Shake. Please remind me to NEVER eat there again! Ugh. The food wasn't that great (although the milkshake was pretty good). But at 2:30 a.m. I awoke from a wonderful slumber with sharp pains in my stomach. It was all I could do to run my ass to the bathroom. For the next 1 1/2 hours I was back and forth to the toilet. Yuck! I hate having the "back door trots" as my mamaw liked to call it. It
had to be that greasy food.

Jonathan told me Monday night, "I think you and your friend Sam should have a "girl's night" out this weekend." I'm thinking, "Uh-huh, yeah right. That means you want something mister!" I said, "Oh yeah?" "And exactly what do you want? Because you don't tell me to go out, unless you want something in return." He then proceeded to remind me that this weekend was Superbowl Sunday. Well, duh! Like I remembered or cared about that. But anyway, it all boiled down to he wants to do the go out, get drunk and party harty all day the boys on Sunday. So I might as well take advantage while I can and have a girl's night out!

Sam is my friend whose mother passed away last week, so getting her out for a girl's night out will be good for her anyway. Hmmm, now what should we do? Dinner and a movie maybe? Anyone got any suggestions for a good "chick flick" they have been to see lately? I couldn't tell you the last movie I went to. I think maybe Jonathan and I did see National Treasure a few months ago when my parents had the kids. The critics gave the movie a C, but bah, what do they know. I personally liked the movie. It was a kind of Indiana Jones movie-type.
Whenever we do get a chance to go to the movies (which has only been about 3 or 4 times in the last 3 years), it seems we always pick something Jonathan wants to see. I can go for a good adventure movie, but he never wants to go for a good chick flick!

I remember a long time ago I begged him to go see Legends of the Fall with me when we were stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia (ah the horrid memories of that hell hole. I'll have to tell you about that some day). But he flat out refused. But lo and behold, one of his Army buddies came in and told him what a good movie it was, and that weekend we were off to see the movie! Men! I swear. Can't live with em, can't live without em. Hmmm, maybe we can!

Until we meet again....

Thanx for ur comment on my blog - it's blog by blog sharing at the moment! hahahahaa. There's some more pics of my boys on my blog - just follow the link on the side 'Mallard's Photo Gallery'. Coolies. I signed your guestbook too... works and looks fine - thank you for the privilidge!

'Girlfriend's' ONLY three...?! hand on the hip... sassys... 'I don't think so?!' Hahahahahaa! Sounds like my youngest, Ix (he's 6)... he's got 'spunk', as my brother says. He just knows what he wants, and being the youngest of three, has very very quickly learned how to get it too.

Hope you get to see a movie together - there's some fun memories to share together. If you want a good laff - go see "The Incredibles" - seriously, a great experience! But I suspect that 'chew and spew' didn't agree with you that night... yuckie... Aww goodness... Super Bowl again... we have our 'Grand Finals' over here in Australia, so it's just as crazy for the male populace here as is there, I guess... silly men! hahahaa.

I think we share the same kids..lol
Amber's a little hoot herself! Me and Frank were having a little tiff one day..nothing serious...just spouting off...I said something to him that Amber got a kick out of and all of a sudden she says loud as can be "Dad you just got served!" guess you had to be there...But after that we could not resume our little arguement..lol...

Glad skyler has a new chopper..wish i could have had Darin's fixed...but i traveled to so many dentist that Darin was not having anything to do with...Finally i found one that did the job. By then the only option was pulling them. It's all good now...Both of them don't seem to mind them anymore.

As for me and sleep...forget it...i get about 4 to maybe 5 hours a day...sometimes less..like last night i worked till 5:30 in the morning up at 7 take the kids to school and off to my mothers! Could not fall asleep over there tho...don't know why. Now i am over tired and trying to get sleepy...I ususally catch up on Saturday's as long as i don't have to open the store. Sunday's i get up early to take the kids to bowling on there league. That's fun for the whole family!

Well I'm off to bed...
