Pieces of Us...
Girl's Night Out - Saturday, February 05, 2005
This will probably be a short post as I am getting ready to head upstairs and take a shower. We are having a "girl's night out" tonight. Nothing exciting or anything. Myself and two friends of mine are going to dinner and a movie. You know, just get out of the house away from the kids a bit. Since Jonathan will be gone most of tomorrow for the super bowl, I thought I would take a day to myself to. It's only fair, right!?!?

We are going to go see The Wedding Date. I mean you can't have a girl's night out unless you are going to see a chick flick. Like I said before, I don't get to watch too many chick flicks with Jonathan. We are still undecided on where to eat dinner though. I want something really, really good! The last time we had a girl's night out we ate at one of those Japanese steakhouses. It was absolutely yummy!

Yesterday Skyler was really sick. She had a temperature of 101.5 so I took her to Chase's babysitter, which is her old babysitter. She just lounged around Miss J's house and watched cartoons and was utterly spoiled for the entire day. She was still feeling really badly last night when we got home. She didn't eat anything for supper and went into Chase's room and laid down on the bed and took a nap.

Once Jonathan got home he took her upstairs and got her dressed for bed and it took us 1/2 hour to get all of her cold medicine, etc. down here. Girlfriend does NOT like to take medicine. It's the weirdest thing... She will go to the dentist and doctor's office and not say a word. She will even pull down her pants and take a shot like a man. But God forbid if you try and give her some medicine. She acts like you are trying to kill her or something. She can also make herself vomit on command. So if you are lucky enough to get something down here, 8 out of 10 times as soon as it's down, she'll puke it back up! It is really frustrating. We have tried everyone's advice for doing it this way or that, but the results are usually the same. She is just so strong willed.

I've been reading journals for several years now and it amazes me how some people have journals with thousands and thousands of readers each day. I guess you must have a really interesting life and must be able to write very well to pick up so many readers. My life is utterly boring that's for sure. Nothing exciting happens around here very often.

Now if I had been writing this journal say 12 years ago when we were in the military, things would have been much different. We definitely lead a much more exciting life back then. We lived four years in Germany and one year in Korea. We also lived through the 500 year flood (no not the 100 year flood, but the 500 YEAR FLOOD!) while we were stationed in Korea. I think I still have my old website up on geocities. If your not busy some day check out the pictures of the flood. It's pretty wild. I'll go ahead and warn you, this site was done in 1998 and it hasn't been updated since. It was before kids and before we headed out into the "civilian world." Here is the link:

Well like I said before, this would be a short post. I'm going to go get ready for my exciting night out. ha! Until tomorrow....
