Pieces of Us...
Oh Where to Begin... - Saturday, October 07, 2006

Sometimes I really think I just need to give up this blogging thing. It seems I never have enough time. I know, I'm no worse than any other busy mom who works full time. But I just think that some of us take it harder than others. I'm not one of those moms who has their stuff together. Mine is lost all over the place.

Today is Saturday and Jonathan had to help out a friend and will be gone most of the afternoon. I've been tooling around the house, trying to wash some clothes, list a few things on craigslist, etc.

Chase has just been weepy and crying for days. Today he is just beside himself. Nothing seems to be going his way. I've laid him down for a nap twice because he has been so whiny. He sleeps for about 20 minutes and then he is back up. I hope he isn't getting an ear infection or anything.

Last weekend we took the kids to
Tweetsie Railroad. They had an absolute blast. You can view all the pictures of our trip by clicking on the photo below:

The last picture is my favorite. He was so pooped after a few hours that he couldn't stand himself and we couldn't stand him. He was whiny and weepy (kind of like today) and nothing was going his way. We had taken our wagon to pull them around in, so I laid him down in the wagon and made him take a nap. I took a picture and it is too cute.

They really loved riding the train. We had a wonderful time. Tweetsie is still in limbo. They had a 50 year land lease which runs out next year. I'm not sure if there has been a decision yet on what is going to happen. I certainly hope they don't shut it down. I remember going to Tweetsie when I was a little girl. Boone and the mountains are so gorgeous this time of year.

Then on Sunday we took the kids to the
Goat Lady Dairy Farm down in Climax. I only took a few pictures. They were too interested in looking at the goats and pigs to stand and let me take pictures of them. There was this little wooden swing hanging from a tree that Skyler loved swinging on. Click on the picture below to view the pics:

This weekend the weather has turned colder than crap. Its like 50 degrees outside. Now I know that isn't that cold, but its the coldest it has been here so far this fall. Not to mention its wet, rainy and yucky. I hate being stuck in the house all day. Not to mention the kids also hate it to. Hence why they are driving me bonkers today.

I am so far behind on reading my journals. I apologize. As always, things have just been crazy. I think we try and cram too much stuff into our week.

I've also become active in a local mommy's internet board. I hope to be able to do some more things with them. The only bad thing is I work full time and a lot of their activities are during the day. A lot of the mothers are SAHM, but they also have a group called "Moms on the Clock" which is made up of working moms. That is very cool because it is so hard to find other working moms to do playgroups and things with. Click on the link below to view the site. Make sure you go to "Community" to read the boards.

Well now its Sunday. I started this post yesterday, but never got around to finishing it. We had full intentions of going to the Dixie Classic Fair this weekend, but its still wet, cold and rainy outside. Bummer. I think we might go to Concord Mills or something instead today. We love going down there to shop and go to Razoo's.

I listed about 5 lots of things on www.craigslist.org yesterday. For those of you have never used craigslist, you don't know what your missing. I made over $100 this week on there just selling little stuff.

My friend Sam and I are going to do a cruise in January with Princess, so I'm selling off some of our junk in order to get money for our cruise. Sam has never been on a cruise before, so it should be interesting for her. I think she will love cruising. Its so much fun.

Well I hate to cut it short, but my house is a wreck, so I need to get some things done around here. Hope to catch up on everyone's blogs soon!

Oh yeah, I did want to mention one thing. Thanks to everyone for letting me know about the recall on the tool bench I bought Chase. Luckily we didn't give it to him for his birthday. He had so much other stuff, we were just holding it until Christmas. But I've already contacted Playskool and sent the nails back and they are giving us a $50 gift certificate. Considering I only paid $15 for the toy, I'd say that was a pretty good deal.

I hope you don't give up the blog, but I totally understand that priorities change over time and it is better not to put the pressure on yourself if your heart really isn't into it. That way you can take the time to just read others blogs when you are in the mood. I loved the pictures!
